If we don’t you can all lynch me.
We are in the market for a right back.
I feel/hope its Ortega going, Eddie stays another year and Trafford learns from him taking over from him next year.I am more interested in what happens next. Eddie or Ortega must be leaving. If it’s Ortega and Trafford is in as No2 to Eddie, it’s a decent move, albeit a ridiculously expensive one. If Eddie is going and we are left with Trafford and Ortega, it’s a fucking monumental risk we will have taken.
A small risk hardly monumental.I am more interested in what happens next. Eddie or Ortega must be leaving. Maybe its Eddie or one more season and then Trafford takes over next season and Ortega out?
Sounds like that might be the case mate - and I’m fully supportive of that from a succession planning perspective.
Eddie still No 1 at the start, but phase Trafford in with increased opportunities over the course of the season - and give him the chance to learn from one of the best in the game.
Then we say goodbye to Eddie next summer, with our new No 1 already in place.
Realistically, Ortega plays much more than the norm for a second choice. It’s perfect succession planning imo.Much more comfortable with this deal now. Ederson number 1 for one more season with Trafford presumably promised a certain amount of game time. Relatively cheap and can shift him if he is not up to standard next summer.
Have you forgotten the Bravo situation and the desperate position that put us in?A small risk hardly monumental.
