southamptons next big thing would be a great replacement for gareth when he goes its definately one for the future but hes rated even higher than oxlade and walcott we'll most likely see him next year for them hopefully we can get in first before the other 'top' clubs move for him hes a pompey fan so im not sure how loyal he'll be to southampton.

he doesn't get in saints first team

-- Thu May 10, 2012 9:57 pm --

lallana is good for saints. but none are to the level of bale, walcott, or chamberlain

In fairness S'hampton have had a very competitive year. It's hard to justify a flighty 17 year old in the middle of a run in. He has excellent acceleration for a midfielder. I watched their FA cup tie highlights recently and he seemed to be a very starry eyed young player. The issue for him will be his footballing mentality and development. If he can learn and adapt in the way his continental counterparts do then he will have a great career. We seem to breed only Parkers or Bartons. But never complete packages.

ward-prowse and johnny williams are both exceptional for their age imo especially williams im convinced we were/are after williams because city and palace officials were together at zahas u21 debut. i made this thread because i thought ward-prowse was a name to look out for in the future and a player who could feature for them next season, he needs to adapt to mens foot though but it will be interesting to see if he features next year as i know hes highly regarded by them, also bale and walcott where at southampton when they had serious financial troubles. johnny williams is the player to look out for though imo hes the second youngest player ever to be called up to the wales senior team hes recently signed a 5 year contract at palace he can be as good wilshere imo and if it wasn't for his broken leg there would be a lot more hype about him hes been linked with arsenal recently aswell. i dont think its a coincedence we sent joan roman angel to palace where he played 1 developement game against southampton ward-prowse and luke shaw who we've been linked to also played.

not in nigel adkins first team plan - guarantee you. not much hype on him in south coast.

As a born and raised city fan living in Southampton and having a season ticket at St marys this lad is quality just not Man city quality will be a good prem player but we need world class not good prem players.

Jake sinclair, Luke Shaw and Callum Chambers are also very highly rated down here.
