He’s killing any semblance of being the MNF pundit he started out being and has morphed into a fucking clown on CBS/Paramount+ for the American Champions League audience…because Micah was stealing all the clicks by being a complete fucking clown with his jokes and waaaay OTT laugh!

He plays two different roles though, for different audiences, doesn’t he?

CBS seems to be mostly an entertainment segment, whereas on Sky, there is some actual analysis from time to time.

I don’t see much of the CBS stuff outside of clips for social media.

I thought the Dortmund thing was just an extension of bantz for the American audience.

When his foils are Schmeichel and Micah, there is lots of bantz, but I’ve been watching that coverage for years now and it’s become tedious in the extreme. Kate Abdo is awesome, but the schtick is awful.

I actually like Neville’s “The Overlap,” and he’s better on that because he can’t get away with the Yank crap on there. The cringy part on there is the token City female, even though I like her as a person. She brings C level “game” to an A list party.

Agreed. Neville can be objective when he allows himself to be. His mask slips quite often on Sky though. His rants about that lot are pure comedy though.

It’s just where the world is at. Experts are boring, whereas finding a new portmanteau to use as bantz gets those clicks up.

Unless you are genuinely funny, banter gets tired quickly.

Jill Scott needs to believe in herself more on the Overlap. She seems scared to contribute more. She’s got more relevant views on football than some of the others on there.
