Jamie Carragher

Fuck me Jamie all these years following City for fuck all..... I'm really hurt by your insightful put down.
Has anyone got the Samaritans phone number please .

I remember a Rag telling me when we got taken over that the most we can hope for was an FA Cup….. I was made up with the possibility of that & the thought of us winning that devastated him.

He said this a few years ago, and a few years ago before that as well

I didn’t give a fuck then either
Spitty says a lot of things about City which is strange as he's apparently not bothered about us.
The Everton fan also said you had to retain the title to be considered a great team after our centurions season.
The last time the victims retained a title he was running around his primary school in Bootle wearing an Everton shirt.
I can't take this vile rat seriously and like yourself I don't give a fuck what he says either.

Haha what a bitter twat

In his small mind he thinks the Dublin derby is important, it's important to those in Dublin who think it's a derby when it isn't.

Considering how unimportant we are the scouse are doing a hell of a lot of moaning and groaning.

Remember, these 2 clubs are the epitome of glory hunting fans who have been duped by Sky TV.
Think he's protecting the "Sky Brand" with him and The Rat containing to represent the 2 Red Arse Cheeks.
Unfortunately, he probably is true in saying those clubs are the best supported by 40+ year olds, living in areas where there isn't a strong local team.
I now live in the North East, so very rarely see a youngster (or anyone really) wearing colours of those 2 clubs...
Very true about the Noth East . Holiday in Beadnall Bay twenty years ago and not a cartel shirt in sight on the caravan park .

My experience also confirms this potential effect growing up in London in a household with no football fans . Fell in love with the game in 1966 and followed the only team presented to the wider public on the back of George Best glamour and Munich , yes , you've guessed it ....I was mad about the sport , devoured everything I could and played played played although , being a girl , no chance of anything serious . No live coverage of course except the FA Cup but lots of back pages and the teleprinter on Grandstand .

When I was old enough to go to games alone, at twelve, I did.... watching Spurs or Arsenal alternate Saturdays and the Rags where ever they played in London . Hurrah for paper rounds and the boys entrance . We moved to Wiltshire a couple of years later , a football desert so I used to travel back to London to watch the big teams .

Came to Manchester to study at eighteen . One match at The Swamp then the next Saturday at Maine Road . No contest . City, The Mighty Joe Corrigan and The Kippax grabbed my heart straight away . Never looked back . Now we are a family of die hard Blues in exile in West Yorkshire. And my siblings are all football mad too
( Tottenham , Luton , Bristol Rovers season ticket holders all )

Thinking on though, it was the days when going to a match was the only way to experience football and be a supporter . These days , with the 24 /7 coverage favouring the Red Cartel , with biggest
" supporters " making a living on the socials and never going to live games , with tickets being so expensive etc etc I wonder if I would have stuck with my childish , erroneous decision . What a terrible terrible thought . Time for a coffee and to feed the cat.

Carragher is totally ignorant about football. Liverpool weren’t even the biggest club in Merseyside before Shankly. United only became huge under Ferguson. Football is cyclic and always has been. In any case his club has been humiliated by both Manchester clubs over the last 25 years in terms of trophies. What point is he trying to make.

Thanks for that,a great read/ post.

Does any fan want the biggest club award? They all want to be the most successful.

I wonder which club is the most successful in this millennium? It’s not the scousers.
At what point does history start, we are a quarter of the way through this Milennium. Are we as big as Huddersfield or Wolves yet, both had successful spells in the last century.

Why is he still on television? Surely if they took a poll on if people actually wanted him on the screen then only dippers would respond positively. I don’t get why management in an entertainment business would look at him and think “yes, this is the insightful, charismatic and likeable character I want”. Also how can the need for subtitles be a positive for a presenter?

A point of view they could never understand, these droves of fans of theirs didn't grow up hundreds of miles away from the North West to just finish as also rans.

Majority of Man City fans don’t give a fcuk about this! Let him have that little comfort blanket of being one of the biggest clubs in the world while they win less! Like going 30 years without league title now that’s a sign of being one the biggest clubs in the world!
Init most of us took immense pride in not being like one of them big clubs haha it's a back handed compliment really! IL keep my trophies Jamie you can keep your big club status
