Who gives a flyin fig?Hamann Pineapple said:A joint venture between US-based hospitality business Legends and Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts has scored the catering contract at Manchester City Football Club’s Etihad Stadium.
Lindley Venue Catering, part of Lindley Group, had held the contract since 2003.
The ten-year deal was at the time reported to be worth £5m a year in turnover, to deliver both match-day and non-match-day catering on the concourse and in the venue’s six restaurants.
The 48,000-seat stadium also includes 11 kitchens, 19, bars and 69 corporate hospitality boxes, as well as conference and exhibition facilities.
Consultant chef John Benson-Smith, who has worked with the Club since 2002, is expected to continue in this capacity.
Adam Elliott, chief executive of Lindley Group, said: "We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Manchester City FC and have had considerable input, particularly during the last couple of years, in helping them to develop and grow their hospitality and concert business as well as their match-day retail catering offering.
"Given the success and results we have achieved from the initiatives created and implemented by Lindley Venue Catering, we are naturally disappointed that our tenure at the Etihad Stadium is coming to a close."
