A joint venture between US-based hospitality business Legends and Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts has scored the catering contract at Manchester City Football Club’s Etihad Stadium.

Lindley Venue Catering, part of Lindley Group, had held the contract since 2003.

The ten-year deal was at the time reported to be worth £5m a year in turnover, to deliver both match-day and non-match-day catering on the concourse and in the venue’s six restaurants.

The 48,000-seat stadium also includes 11 kitchens, 19, bars and 69 corporate hospitality boxes, as well as conference and exhibition facilities.

Consultant chef John Benson-Smith, who has worked with the Club since 2002, is expected to continue in this capacity.

Adam Elliott, chief executive of Lindley Group, said: "We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Manchester City FC and have had considerable input, particularly during the last couple of years, in helping them to develop and grow their hospitality and concert business as well as their match-day retail catering offering.

"Given the success and results we have achieved from the initiatives created and implemented by Lindley Venue Catering, we are naturally disappointed that our tenure at the Etihad Stadium is coming to a close."

There was no one available to comment from Legends or Fabulous Feasts and Manchester City Football Club declined to comment.

Re: No more Balti Pies ???

I'm a great fan of the Balti pie and hope they continue to be sold at the ground.

I don't understand why supermarkets don't stock them, for I think they would literally walk off the shelves. Think they are missing a trick.

The fish and chips outside the city shop are pretty good too imo.

Dammit, I'm hungry now...

Re: No more Balti Pies ???

Hope they bring back the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches they were selling in city square when the Christmas market was on, very tasty!

Re: No more Balti Pies ???

should have a big fuck off noodle stall outside... i reckon it would do really well...

Re: No more Balti Pies ???

The Christmas special stalls were really excellent - the pulled pork sandwich was lovely and there appeared to be a decent burger stall there as well.

Re: No more Balti Pies ???

Caeser salad is the way forward. I'd like a bit of brie with truffles but I'm not sure it accompanies well with the wine.

Re: No more Balti Pies ???

Can't remember when but the balti pies taste changed last time I bought pint and pie at ground. Prefer to eat and drink before I get there now. Get to ground 10 mins before kick off where as it used to be 1hr before and I'm sure a lot of other people do. City really need to sort prices out also larger is too cold and overpriced
