I saw Jamie Redknapp being interviewed earlier on SSN and he kept saying 'there is more to it' when asked about John Terry going to City. This was after Ancelotti's press conference.

If anyone has insider knowledge of Chelsea it will be Jamie Redknapp as he is related to Lampard who is a close friend of John Terry's.

I thought we had absolutely no chance of signing him but after listening to this interview I am not so sure, I think he might be seriously considering joining us. I just hope we don't get embarrased again like in the Kaka fiasco.

I can't help wondering if Terry is using the situation to get a new deal at Chelsea, it is strange that he has not issued any statement at all?
Hope it ends with him signing; he would surely make others think!

You lot do realise the guy has 3 years left on his current contract and is already one of chelseas top wages... he will not be trying for a better deal... thinking this is idiotic.... what do u think city stuck a bid in to help the guy get better wages at chelsea are u honestly joking? Obviously its been said hes interested he has shown interest and we are following it up.

To be honest we have nothing to lose. Its about time we started to unsettle players, clubs have done it to us for years.... and its obvious that they dont like it when WE are the ones with the bullying tactics. We have nothing to lose by testing Chelsea's resolve... they will have nothing but an unsettled dressing room come august.

Concur. We cant loose on this one IMO as no one actually thinks he will sign for city. I personally think the whole thing is an exercise in chain yanking so they back off players like Tevez we have a very good chance of signing.

Its going to cost CHelsea big though. If we are offering him £200k+ on a longer deal and they are paying him £140k they will have to do something to keep him happy. Also remember Lampards wage is linked to top earners as well - they give Terry a £50k rise its likely Lampard gets a similar amount.

Thats another world class players wage they are paying - to players they already have under contract. Loving the new city....

Bet they wish they had left Sturridge alone now...

Its got nothing to do with Sturridge.

The bid is very real, we want him but we bid knowing that even if he doesnt come we will have showed him the sort of money our top class players will be earning.

In short our bids will indeed have a de-stabalizing effect on all our rivals, they will know that they really do have to up the anti if they are to keep in touch with us.

Thats something they know they cant afford to really do.

We are about to take it to the next level and im fooking loving it!
