I agree . Every team should have a tony Adams type defender to call on . A born leader aswell . Ferdy is a great player but he is no captain and leader for us .

Go get Nathan Ake. Make him play left back. Might not be the best going forward, but at least has pace and can defend. Have him back Laporte up at CB as needed. Then get a CB in the summer.
