I'd rather see Zinchenko grab the opportunity by the scruff of the neck instead of signing someone out of desperation.

Good going forward but is he good enough defensively
Bale!
LB:
We already have both the LB slots filled with 2 good options in Mendy and Delph.
Obviously we're reliant on Delph till April/May and even then Mendy is unlikely to hit the ground running
Options:
I don't think we'll do any of that. Instead we'll muddle on with Danilo/Zinchenko and Delph till Mendy is back
- loan deal till the end of the season - highly unlikely
- Long term: Sign a young player like R.Sessegnon who could contribute till the end of the season and then perhaps be loaned out next season (assuming he doesn't warrant taking Delph's spot)
- Short term: Sign a cheap option like Van Aarnholt (assuming he'd be 15m or less) with the view of selling in the summer
CB:
Seems pretty obvious we'll be looking to sign a top class CB in the summer to rotate/compete with Stones/Otamendi so any CB signing this window would become 4th choice within months
FW:
- How much are we prepared to invest in someone to be sat in the stands most weeks next season?
- If we were to have, say, Koulibaly, Otamendi and Stones next season, 3 players who would warrant starting every game, would we not be in a position to have Kompany as 4th choice next season? All 3 would get a decent amount of rest so less chance of injury/fatigue, and if Kompany wasn't available for a League Cup game Dinho could play there (assuming we sign another DM in the summer)
Think it was Sanchez or nothing (till the summer)
Verdict:I reckon Pep has had enough of Kompany's unreliability so ...
