January

Not directing this at you but this guy's turned from shit to world beater back to shit again on Bluemoon, largely due to posters following each other like sheep.

He was good enough to appear in a World Cup final recently and - given a run - would prove serviceable for the remainder of this season. More so than some panic buy bought in January who spends at least half a season getting up to speed. He may be a FOC but he's a wily one.

MDC is still streets ahead of Mangala. We need to keep him as back up for Vinnie. Yes he is getting on, but his experience and vision and presence install far more confidence in the midfield than Mangala can ever hope to achieve.

Devil or Deep Blue Sea?

Think mangala is inexsperienced you watch his game he follows his man often getting skinned because he's to tight to him.also he has 2 or 3 rash passes each game.also in recent games he has let the ball bounce of a goal kick instead of meeting it with a header causing panic at the back. Seasoned professional s don't make these kinds me of mistakes unless there legs have gone such in Martin demichellis case a fine player but age is catching up especially in the pace of the prem.so we have a dilemma who could play centre back who is already at our club?.i remember vinny kompany when he first came to city big strong power full playing in midfield and we have Fernando with similar attributes .he is quick tall strong and a good tackler surely worth a try he cudnt be as rash as mangala but it's just a thought.

I think everyone is too harsh on Mangala. He is not this total flop that people make him out to be, and most of his mistakes seemed to be related to being inexperienced. He looked very strong against Leicester and showed off his physical strengths to keep a very dangerous vardy relatively quiet. I think just like Fernando if we give them more time they will continue to get better. In my opinion what our team desperately needs is a smart, savy, box to box midfielder... When you watch Barca it is ridiculous how much ground Iniesta, Rakitic, and Busquets cover, they are constantly causing problems on offense, but are also great at closing down on defense and causing turnovers. I'm tired of watching our midfield providing very little defensive help while also rarely contributing to attacks or getting assists. Yaya's recent goals have been great but we need someone who is going to put in a full 90 and control the game. I'd give an arm and a leg to have someone like Matic, Busquets, rakitic, veratti, etc.. and MAYBE Isco could become that player, but I do not see that happening anytime soon. If we get Pep this summer maybe we also get similar players like Gundogan and/or Thiago but who knows, but Yaya should not be starting at CDM anymore considering he plays more like a striker than a holding midfielder.

Yes he is, he's utter shite.............it was on Talkshite......and MOTD!

"IT's on the Internet, so it must be true!" We can go back to the amount of clean sheets each defender had last year... It seems like every bad play of Mangala's gets harped on while players like Kolarov can let their man make a run into the box completely unmarked and have no consequences when they have a tap in at the far post. Mangala makes bad passes sure but who doesn't? Ferna made a horrible pass that shouldve led to a vardy goal and no one talks about his passing....

Thats because ferna isn't consistently making the same kind of errors like mangala. Perhaps he was solid at porto, but he's come to england and had LOTS of game time to prove himself now, and at 24 years old its not like he's denayer...he just hasn't handled the jump in pressure of this league. You could sense this when he played well against chelsea in his first game, then after he must have thought...right i can chill now we are onto easier stuff!

You can train and improve in football, but if you have a dumb footballing brain, you won't go far...and thats my personal view of mangala.

That is fair and I'm not saying he will become Kompany, but I think he is a solid third choice cb and if we let him go we will regret doing so, that is all.
