Fair enough that Denayer was helping his mate out but I am totally thinking from the club's perspective. They probably don't want any negative publicity.

You are wasting your breath, if they can't see who he kicked from that clip then it is pointless arguing with the self righteous fools, I am just glad none of them are my friends on a night out and would happily sit back while some guy is sat on top of me giving me a good kicking and raining punch after punch on me.

Denayers mate should be thanking him. That's a true friend. I'd like to think my mates would do the same if my head was getting bounced on the concrete. If they stood by & did fuckall they'd be shithouses in my book.

It's all over the media now, they'll certainly paint Jason as the bad guy in all this, whether he did the right thing or not.

He was supposed to ask him to cease. Then, if that was not enough he should have pushed him gently away. Had that not worked maybe a little tickle under the chin.

It's all very well to say that kicking the attacker in the head was 'cowardly' and 'dangerous'. But we have to remember that Jason is young, he was probably some degree of drunk, and he panicked. I'm sure he's not proud of it but I don't think many of us can say for sure how we'd react in that situation. He was watching his friend getting beaten pretty savagely and I can imagine that all his brain was able to compute was that he had to do something. Given time to think about it I can almost guarantee he would've acted differently. Besides, I'd much rather have seen that than a video of Jason standing around, watching, and taking no action.

As it happens I don't think he's good enough to make it with us, but this incident hasn't really made me think any less of him as a person.

In this type of situation you do not really think right or wrong, only mate or stranger. Having been there in this situation, I would not have kicked the man but I would have done something.

Yes. I would have done the same thing. His friend was having the back of his skull pounded into the concrete.
