Jason Denayer

Is it funny or sad that we have Boyata in the squad, who still earns call-ups only to the u21 nt at his 23, and we have Denayer out on loan, who got a nt call-up, at his 18? You may say that The Lord has more exp and Denayer is a work for future for Belgium by Wilmots, but Jason has played better than Dedryck this season so far, hasn't he?

How many minutes has Boyata played for us this season? How many has Denayer played for Celtic? I'd say it's anything but sad that he's gone out on loan and earned himself a national call up, it definitely beats playing in the EDS.

I'd have to disagree with another post above, I'd like to see him have another year at Celtic if they're in the Champions League.

I agree but if he carries on impressing then you just don't know if someone from a better league would be wanting to take him on.

I do think he will be loaned out again regardless because I just think if Demichelis signs a one year extension it would make sense for Jason to replace him when he leaves.

agreed, Denayer should stay there for one more season, especially if Celtic qualified for UCL. he will get better playing with Scottish champions, rather than with mediocre team in English lower league (no disrespect).

as for the next season, i would like to see Rekik get promoted to the 1st team, playing alongside Demichelis as a 4th choice centre-back. hope City will retain Demichelis service for one or couple season, before promoting Denayer.

It would do no harm for him to play at a good championship club for a season, although I suspect by the start of next he'll have the quality to play in the Prem.
As for Rekik......Denayer trumps him in every attribute imo.

Celtic are currently midtable in Scotland, doing the worst they have done in living memory, so I wouldn't be getting too carried away with how ready for the premier league Denayer is just yet. Obviously there is more to it than just Denayer, but Celtics defence is doing very little to show that any of them are top level players at this point. I'd want to see him do well at a much higher level than the SPL before throwing him into our team.

I didn't mention our team Oscar....I believe half a dozen others could do a lot worse though.
