Think they teach English at the Real Madrid academy, few of the ones who've left seem to speak good English straight away i.e. Granero, Mata, Arbeola.

They teach them English just in case they can't make a career out of football.

If need be they can always go waiting on tables on the Costa del sol

I reckon it started in English and the second part of the interview was actually the first. End of the interview he seems to lose confidence in his English, so I reckon they just told him to do it in Spanish, then flipped them round in editing so the first question made sense as the end.

I feel like some sort of really sad pointless detective now.
