It is becoming clearer that MH will not pick this lad. Surely when Bridge got injured yesterday, it would have been a perfect chance to give him his chance a left back. I am not sure why Zabaleta was pulled into that position. On the highlights last night it looked like he didn't look 100% comfortable in that role. I am dreading to think how many players are going to be missing for the Hamburg now. I didn't expect us to beat Arsenal, but surely it was not worth taking a risk on Bridge and Kompany's fitness...

Garrido came on against Aalborg and we conceded twice and he almost gave away a penalty. I think Hughes wanted to avoid that again.

Can't understand why he was even on the bench if he doesn't even get to replace the player who plays in his position.
Strange stuff from Hughes.

At 2-0 down he was sitting on the bench giggling. You wonder whether he really gives a shit, probably knows he's offski in the Summer.

To be fair last time Garrido came on he was gash and nearly cost us the game in Aalborg.

Clearly Zabba out of position is better than Garrido in position, therefore so be it.

So why have him on the bench at all , who is he ever going to replace, Given ?

you cannot throw someone in after not playing for months and expect them to do wonders.

Elano is a prime example. As is Bridge

highlights are often deceptive. zab played very well for the most part. he kicked walcott something rotten and made good runs. when the second goal went in the whole team slackened off a bit and they did manage to isolate him a bit.

Good point, but if the lad is not going to be given games to make his mark he will never improve and settle into the system. He needed a run out yesterday. If Bridge and Kompany are not fit, surely MH will have no choice to select Garrido. His confidence must be at an all time low at the minute which will not bode well against a very good Hamburg team. Lets hope Bridge and Kompany are 100% fit because we are going to need them big-time...
