You had the feeling he always had 10 people talking in his ear and had to try to make the shite that comes out of the likes of Merson interesting. He was brilliant at it and very entertaining. He also had that ability to make anything sound exciting.

He will definitely be missed and I hope they find someone who's just as good!

Stelling was perfect in the role - will be very difficult to replace. Unless Sky go in a 'new direction, and ruin it all. Their 30 year old format has been copied right across the range of channels BBC, BT Sport etc., so they might be able to poach someone decent. Just get the feeling Sky might be aiming to put the charisma bypass that is Dave Jones in the seat.
So dull, he makes me want to switch over anything he presents. Lineker would be good but he doesn't need the hassle of talking about Division 2 relegation battles for 6 hours, or the money.
