The BT version of Soccer Saturday is by far the superior show now. It’s presentation is far more modern and they’ve managed to pick a selection of ex players with great chemistry between them.

For what’s it’s worth the BT show was also better than Soccer Saturday before the old timers got let go. Truth be told, Soccer Saturday had long had its day. The banter was still slightly there but the football commentary was getting worse and worse and some days they would just mumble when they clearly couldn’t be arsed. It was the correct decision to make changes but they completely dropped when ball when it came to who the replacements would be.
Absolutely. I love that they cover games from the continent as well.

I take it at this point they want to return it to 'A World Of Sport', with indoor league as an option....
Can they bring back the wrestling?

I don’t mean the American shite, rather the British version that "A World Of Sport" used to show in the '60s and '70s.

Mick McManus, Jackie Pallo, the Royal brothers, etc.

A decade ago when streams weren't widely available, goal clips weren't on social media within seconds and soccer Saturday was your best bet of following everything he was brilliant. There was nobody better for his role. Times have moved on, I couldn't name a single person who watches soccer Saturday anymore. He's done the right thing bowing out before the show is put to sleep permanently.

Problem is, they only start at 2.30pm or something- I want the full 3 course meal, full pre-match discussion of every match too, as well as in match and post match.
Should be 12 noon start, whoever is doing it.

Let's be honest, he was done with Sky Sports when his mates were removed, and a broader cross section of younger pundits were brought in at their expense. The show has never been the same since that happened. I can't blame him for jacking it in. There will be a queue of TV companies all around the world offering him a huge salary to be their main football presenter. Good luck to him. As for the Execs at Sky Sports, f*ck of you Rag and Dipper tw@ts!

Giant Haystacks. (you wouldn't of messed with him, would you)

6,11 tall, 42 stone in weight.

His opponent, Tony Francis, 16 stone.

Tony lasted 28 seconds. You couldn't blame him for faking a knockout and getting out of the ring ASAP. An easy nights work.

Back to Jeff.

Always been convinced he's a United fan. Even before the 2008 takeover, he was regularly snide about City.

People seem to think of him as knowledgeable but all he does is simply say what he his producer tells him via his ear piece.

He will be on Talksport before you know it. Suits him down to the ground.
Nailed on
