Don't, say, 90% of murderers think they'll get away with it, though? If they were sure they'd be caught, they wouldn't commit the crime. And yes; I'm aware that there are people who commit crimes, wanting to get caught. A cry for help, if you like. Hence my 90% guestimate.

Her mother thinks she is innocent, ludicrous. I think the sentence is too lenient. Okay she will be 72 before she is even considered for parole but if she is then she could have a good 20 years ahead of her. Since the death penalty was abolished and over the years the so called life sentence is anything but. This sentence is at the higher end of the scale, others are often less. When you get murderers laughing and smirking when they are sentenced it says it all. Facing the noose there would be no laughing and smirking I'll bet.

It must be quite a rare thing to be convicted without any supporting forensic evidence these days.

It sounds like there is little doubt that she did it and the heinous and calculated nature of it along with zero remorse will hopefully mean she dies in prison before she is eligible for parole.
