Jerome Boateng - The Sun article

He'd rather slink off to Germany for a guaranteed starting spot for a team that was desperate to sign defenders than fight for a place on the most ambitious side in world football.
Yeah, fancy a young German international wanting to join the best team in Germany and one of the biggest clubs in the world. What an idiot.

Criticise his performances for us all you want, but he'd have been fucking insane to turn down the opportunity to join Bayern. I, and anyone else with half a brain, would have done exactly the same thing in his shoes.

Play a 4-2-3-1 with a drinks trolley playing just in front of Aguero, Silva and Nasri and the mard fucker will be bollocksed

Darren Lewis on Sky this morning was saying that Boateng has backtracked a lot on these reported comments.

It's in the Sun ffs, it's almost certainly made up drivel. He has said nothing like that over here.
I've not heard him criticise City since he arrived tbf.

He praises City if anything, not the other way round.

There was an interview with him - and it was just one sentence about that the team at Manchester city was so big so that it was difficult to feel a togetherness. Understandable, or?

Bayern did not always have teams with team spirit - the name FC Hollywood comes out of the 90s when we had a couple of players that sprang on each other via the media... They worked together to achieve goals as they knew they had to to achieve things - but I doubt that you could call that team spirit...

Why did Boateng go to Manchester City? Might not only have been the contract - in Hamburg had a lot players leaving and there was a lot of theatre on managing and coaching side - so when he had the chance he left. He played in Hamburg with Vincent Kompany and Nigel de Jong - might be another reason.

There is a thread in the forum that is named "You cannot buy teamspirit"... - yes, you cannot buy it. You can take care to buy players wisefully, not just for the skill but for their charakter. You can try to keep everybody in good mood. But it is a thing a team has to grow together into. No money does not make team spirit either - money does not have much to do with it!
