Jerome Boateng Watch

The thing that is immediately obvious is that he loves to play long balls! It's the first thing he looks for every time he gets the ball! And he's done some pretty good ones too so far to be fair. He dropped one nicely over the top of Hangeland to create a good chance that Pitroipa messed up, and also did another great ball over the top of Konchesky that Demel miss-controlled. A decent touch, and he'd have been in. He's not been tested at all defensively, as Fulham have offered nothing so far, so it's hard to judge him on his defensive ability. But Boateng's done what he's had to do very well so far.

What's the deal with Hamburg's kits? Everytime i see them play, home or away they're wearing a differnt coloured kit.

there home is red, away white, 3rd blue and black.

i stand to be corrected.

They're wearing white now at home.

Something i wasn't aware of before tonight is that Boateng's left footed! So can he play both full back positions? I've seen him play right back before, but presumably he can play left back too considering that's his natural side? His versatility will be a great asset for us.

He's not had much to do but has been clean in what he has done with good distribution, he has pace ,made a good recovering block on Gera with left foot

Just checked football manager and he's right footed which is very strong, and a strong left foot.

Yeah, i was mistaken. He used his left foot for 2/3 long passes in a row, so i assumed he was left footed, but he's been using his right foot ever since my post! But that's good... the more two-footed he is, the better!

Two things to mull over.

BBC 5 live sport talking pre-game basically said that he was coming for £11m - it wasnt an if i was "Boateng who is joining Manchester City for £11m in the summer"

The other is the shirt sponsor (and club sponsor) for Hamburg explains why we have such a link to the club in terms of transfers.
