Jet heeled defender

Nunes is also very rapid, and he has an excellent attacking game from the RB position - what perplexed me more than anything is that at the end of last season we had the best period of the season with Nico O' Reilly at LB and Nunes at RB, with no wingers, so they were also the attackers on the flanks - but when it came to the cup final Nunes was dropped for Akanji and both Doku and Savio chosen, O' Reilly had no space to attack and was not involved in the match. unsurprisingly we lost, why did he change a winning formula? and worse still continues to do so?

Seems like it’s on an inverse line to their age as well. The younger you are, the less interested in getting them in the team he is…
This much talked about rebuild is hilarious. On Saturday, getting run over by a Spurs team missing 3/4 regular starters and we end the match with Stones, Dias (new contract?) Ake, Rodri, Foden and Bernado on the pitch.
Cherki, Bobb and Marmoush first ones off the pitch. Meanwhile, Arsenal are giving a debut to a 15 year old…
16yr old grabbed the winner for Liverpool.

You’d play him there if we’re going to persist with the inverted fullback stuff, as he’s far better going into midfield than anyone else.
The other thing we could do, of course, is start playing 3 at the back (3 from Stones, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol) with Nunes and Ait-Nouri playing as wing backs. Lose the ‘wingers’, play Rodri, Reindeers, Cherki, Foden and Haaland (or play Marmoush as a second forward and lose one of the midfield players).
Good shout, im sick of teams scoring after we have dominated, lets tighten up and start grinding out results.

Out of the myriad of academies around the world and including ours we can't seem to find a right back who has lots of pace and can kick a ball without falling over?

Something not quite right there, who's training these blancmanged footed buffoons?

It’s worth remembering that at the start of February Khusanov spoke so little English that Pep had to pick Akanji and Bernardo next to him so they could communicate in French.

We just don’t know how quickly he’s learning English and I suspect this might be hampering him because obviously communication is vital when you’re playing a high line.

Then add in Pep’s general suspicion of very young players and preference for experience, plus the usual period of time it takes for players to learn and adapt to Pep’s coaching (which would be hard if they can’t speak directly to each other in training) and I think that’s why we haven’t seen much of him.

If he can't speak English get the rest of the cunts learning Uzbek, we need him in the team.

Are we missing a prime Kyle Walker type player, how many times did he save us when someone broke through onside,

…a player with the ball is slower than the defender catching him, if we’re going to play such a high line then Khusanov would surely catch them,

…I don’t think this will solve all our problems, but this is surely one simple fix!

(I’m sure this must have been discussed before but couldn’t find a thread)
Jet heeled Djed?

Khusonov for me should be either partnering Stones or playing in the right fullback postion.

He is such a solid tackler, physical, great pace...he solves a lot of problems

The only reason i can think of that Pep doesnt play him is because he doesnt think Khusonov can invert into midfield and/or the language barrier.

I did notice when Khusonov first started playing he absolutley hammered his passes at players - i remember one the first games even Bernardo struggled to control one of his passes that he absolutely smashed at him -maybe thats something Pep wants to iron out first?

Pep and Fullbacks ??
For what we have won over the years, Its still a puzzle how

Spurs Liverpool United Arsenal have all had a feel day down our left and the better managers attack our weaknesses
Pep does struggle to sort out a system that works against the better teams, Should we have a weakness for a world-class team that's won everything
