Be warned!
New law comes in this weekend

Unauthorised Entry to Football Matches Act 2026 officially comes into force this weekend in England and Wales, specifically timed to coincide with the Carabao Cup Final
Conviction for jibbing at a designated football match can lead to:
  • Football Banning Orders: A court-imposed ban preventing attendance at any professional football match for a period typically ranging from 3 to 10 years.
  • Fines: Financial penalties of up to £1,000.
  • Criminal Record: As a specific criminal offence, a conviction will result in a permanent criminal record.

Well after this weekend that's another x200 empty seats for the remaining home games this year and next x2+ seasons....

Well have to be careful at turnstile on Sunday to make sure I use my Wembley Arsenal LC and not my Etihad Arsenal PL code on my phone or I'll be banged up and at Wembley Magistrates Court first thing Monday morning...

A rite (or right) of passage in certain part of the UK. Thankfully I hear UK law doesn't quite apply everywhere so their cultural heritage is safe.

I always thought it was a criminal offence anyway after the lessons of the past and impact it can have on safety, but better late than never I suppose.

Is taking the wooden gates off at grounds like Oldham still allowed, or is that classed as ‘jibbing in’ now?

That’s the scousers fucked

Are the higher us a little worried that swathes of giddy Arsenal fans are going to descend onto Wembley because they want to witness their best season ever? Gangs of unintelligible youths not being able to get tickets for their battle with us?

Using the term "Tailgating" hasn't got the same effect as jibbing.

On the train to Euston this morning, daughter couldn’t travel with us as she had a uni exam so I got her a later train (leaving a spare) conductor comes down checking tickets & a fella was trying to do the old asleep number, turns out he never had a ticket so I bailed him out, conductor was fuming, but not half as bad as me when he told me 5 minutes later he’s a rag & making his way to the Bournemouth game :\
