Jimmy Buffet RIP

When I first moved to the US 20-odd years ago, we were living in Miami and drove down to Key West for a few days. Just down the road from our hotel was a bar (turns out it was a Margaritaville) and a big brouhaha going on. We asked someone what the deal was and they said “Jimmy Buffet is here!!”. We just stared at her blankly. To this day, Americans are consistently amazed and disappointed when I tell them that no one outside of North America has heard of him.

I went through a spell many moons ago when I would go see him live, his shows were always a blast and the parking lot was like being transported to the Caribbean for the day.

I'm sure Blackpool has a similar life style
