That's sad news. Amazing when you look at his form back then that he didn't get in the '66 team. Has to be said, though, it didn't work out too bad. Saint and Greavesie was a "must watch" back in the day. And although it does look a bit dated when you see clips of it now, it was streets ahead of anything around now. I mean to day; Soccer AM? Really?

A great goalscorer I was lucky enough to see play live. Mind you I didn't feel that lucky when I saw him score twice against us on his debut for West Ham, when they beat us 5-1 as I got soaked in the scoreboard end. I loved Saint and Greavsie as well. Rest in peace Jimmy.

Fabulous player and always came across as a decent lad on ‘Saint and Greavsie’.
Still remember the time he interviewed Azumah Nelson before his fight with Pat Cowdell and asked him just how hard he hit, Nelson got him to hold up his hand and gave it a right crack, Jimmy’s face and reaction was a picture trying to hide the pain, I’m sure it turned out he’d actually broken/dislocated some of his fingers.
