João Félix

1) We don’t play with a second striker. The vision from the DoF to the youth teams is we play an attacking 433. Would we switch to a false 9 or would he take the position of one of our attacking midfielders?

2) We’ve got a POTY, one of the world’s most talented wingers and a homegrown u17 World Cup winning midfielder all struggling for game time. We’ve also got Jesus who’d likely play less, and although he’s not hit the heights of his first 2 seasons, is still a talented player.

3) If you spend £70+ million on a young player, it creates pressure on them to both perform and play consistently. What if he’s just had 1 good season and isn’t ready for us yet? What if he dips in form? What if Liverpool push us closely again? Do we drop Aguero for him?

I think we need another striker, but it’s a big gamble considering we’re only 1 point away from Liverpool. Is he the next Mbappe or just having a decent spell in a team that’s flooded with goals?
Fair enough mate, there will no doubt be 1000s of transfer posts keeping us all busy these next couple of months

That Benfica ‘big wages’ story is likely to be a large pair of bollocks.

There’s no way they could match the wages a bigger club could pay, and that firmly includes us.

They can't but they're looking to narrow the gap and push him to stay one season more.

If the Griezmann transfer happens. This would be a very predictable move. And we wouldn't be able to compete. At least with the transfer fee.

Even the biggest Befica/Felix fans don't think he's going to be sold for the full £105m buyout clause so I dont see that being the issue. He will go for 70-80 and we must be in the mix at that price. It will come down to the player speaking to the managers/salary etc. like always.

When Griezmann's clause is triggered. I wouldn't be surprised if Atletico just skip the negotiations and pay Felix clause. Which we would be unwilling to match.

Anyway, after Jesus FA cup performance. Not sure who would make way for another forward.
