Jo arrested

I remember his press conference. A journalist asked Hughes what qualities he had that would make him an asset. He looked at him and said "he's a big lad" almost as if he knew literally nothing about him as a player.
also remember Jo describing himself as the person with the best volley in the game, then Hughes cut him down saying "thats not true, cos i was"

Oh how the World cup of 82 is forgotten!

Brazil had 10 players with the touch of an Angel accompanied by Serginho at centre forward with the touch of an elephant.
Serginho was hopeless, but better than Jo.

Also, it was 9 players in 82 as their goalkeeper Valdo Perez looked like the singer from Hot Chocolate and was similarly shite.

I remember in the pre match thread before we played Salzburg away, I put a comment on that there was more chance of Julie Andrews running across the pitch singing "The hills are alive with the sound of music" than there was of Jo scoring.

Next days MUEN headline was along the lines of "The hills are alive with the sound of City". They even quoted my prediction from 'bladdered on Bluemoon'...one of my very few claims to fame.

There was a poster on here IIRC whose username was All We Need Is Jo

Giving life to that username was probably Jo’s finest achievement in a City shirt.

My Mrs is mates with someone who has a kid to him over here.

8 kids he has.

Wow 8 kids, there's probably more too....

I always thought he looked like a stereotypical ghetto crackhead only missing the hair comb, turns out he just had an extreme case of sex addiction that caused the crackhead look.

I really hope there's something good from all this and the child is actually a City fan, beyond that though he was useless to us wish we'd have signed Ronaldo instead as was rumoured, even if he only played once a month he'd have contributed far more than Jo.

I think there might have been something fishy with Vuoso like appearance money due. I saw a few city reserve games when I was working away at that time and he could be quite classy imo and was convinced (maybe optimistically) that his debut was just around the corner but it never came. Actually just checked his overall career and its not that bad.

He scored a shitload of goals in South America and played some international games. I think it must have been financial although we did have 5 other forwards ranging from superb to half decent at the time. Was he better than Anelka, Goater, Wanchope, Huckerby or Macken?

Hard to say exactly as.it was only reserves, he could run with it and beat a man or two and had a chance on finishes without being lethal.
Not Anelka class but might give the others a run for their money imo
.
