I'm not often in favour of capital punishment for the simple reason that there can sometimes be terrible miscarriages of justice.

But I do think perhaps there should be special circumstances where it is an option, and for me, this is one of those circumstances. I am not saying he definitely SHOULD be executed, but I think the judge should perhaps have that option open to him for cases such as this, where there can be no doubt whatsover as to guilt, no remorse and the crime is particularly terrible.

I'd lose no sleep if we'd decided to kill him by lethal injection.

There is no difference whatsoever between the three of them.
There is however a huge difference in the way both cases have been reported, and the public's reaction to these heinous crimes reflects it.
 
We live in a country where a large portion of the public still get their news from tabloids who tell lies and sensationalise daily.

Mair was a member of far right sites and regularly shared such material. The UN High Commissioner of Human Rights has said they are extremist media.
