Jo Swinson

Even mimics her unrequited love.

That’s all fair enough but why are the Greens committing to zero emissions when they’re not really?

I'd suggest its because it is not her promise to make - she can't make companies produce electric cars or make people buy them, is it even possible if the will was there? Can that many be built in ten years and even if they could does the country have the infrastructure to support it?

I think people are naturally going for the hybrid or electric option anyway, its just a case of it being more affordable. We should be moving away from cars anyway and improving public transport across the whole country

It’s easy to type a load of bluster and hyperbole without actually saying why you think any of it.

You could have typed that out about anyone and that shows what a ridiculously unspecific post it is.

What is about their policies you disagree with?

As it stands they’re a moderate party, with an average leader, who doesn’t like your party’s leader... that’s it isn’t it?

No.

I know about the political and philosophical underpinning of the Liberal Party, I know what social democracy stands for, the Lib Dems are neither of these two, nor are they a fusion of these two great political philosophies, they're just a bunch of opportunistic one nation Tories and Swinson is an unprincipled, weak politician hopelessly out of her depth.

Who gives a fuck about policies that are constructed for one purpose and one purpose only, short term traction.

I completely get that but she is promising zero emissions. Does she mean as a country including businesses or not?

I think the future should be mini electric cars/bikes that can be rented or bought cheaply and longer journeys on trains. Most of us drive cars that are nit really suited to what we use them for. They are in many cases a status symbol. The biggest mistake made was not outright banning certain vehicles decades ago. We could have been much further down the line by now.

They are a broad church like all parties should be and like Labour were before those on the hard left decided to purify the party and put themselves further away from power.

They are close to the centre economically and are looking to put money in and are left wing socially.

And I give a fuck about policies, it’s what I vote for.

Change the purity record, it's boring and shows just how little you know about what's really happening.

I love you right wingers, you adore a broad church when you're in charge, when you're not it's no longer a broad church, it's a cult.

You do love your dull repetition though, underpinned with nothing more than "it's just common sense!"

Meanwhile Ed Davey on Andrew Neil show showing what a joke the Lib Dems are - they expect a Tory minority govt. and they will form a coalition with them and demand, wait for it.....a second referendum!
What a complete shambles this party is.

A broad church makes for an electable and pragmatic party, that checks itself when it goes too far one way or to the extreme. The sort of party that will shake off a racism problem and quickly deal with it because the collective will be opposed to such views and will challenge each other.

A party that goes down a route of our ideology only and everyone is a traitor who should fuck off, usually ends up in the extreme category.

The purity record isn’t inaccurate nor boring, it’s quite pathetic to watch and sad. Of course everyone who disagrees is right wing.

Swinson is a very ordinary politician, with reasonable policies (unless you’re a leave voter) but she’s made the fatal mistake, as far as you lot are concerned, of not being socialist and saying Corbyn isn’t fit to be PM.

Oh and by the way, on the broad church thing, I actually really enjoy debating with socialists and those on the equal footing of the right. I actively try and chat to my Corbyn supporting, self-determining socialist mate.

They don't expect, they want.

As for the only true remain, revoke Article 50 party, that's just the name of the shop! They no more believe in it than they did in abolishing student fees. But here I am again, pissing on Ban-Jani's electable, reasonable, pragmatic party.

Pragmatic must be the new word for promiscuous.

I watched the Ed Davey interview, where did you get that from?

Why what try quoting me directly when you mention me or tagging me in it?

They’re not my party, I’ve only ever voted for them once and did so only in the Euro elections to make a point.

I don’t actually like them but I’m defending them because your arguments against them are unfair and ridiculous, and well to be honest I can’t stand the hard left these days. There’s a fucking tsunami of arrogant and stuck up socialist cunts who think that anyone who disagrees with them is right wing and immoral.

It’s been said before but I’ll reiterate, the LibDems joined the government as a junior partner and had to drop key policies. Had they won a majority they would have abolished tuition fees but when you go into a coalition, even as a the larger party, you will have to drop stuff.

That’s politics but something you do not seem to get.

I’ve just read it on the BBC.

He said the most likely result is a Tory minority and in that case the LibDems will push for another referendum vote.

No mention of a coalition.

He rules out working with labour but does say he would work with the tories.

That is hiw most percueve the comments and as cobfirmation they are willing to co-operate with a tory minority.

Lib-dems are cunts always have been always will be, at least with tories you know your opposition , unlike these shifty orange wankers.

I understand if a vote for them removes a tory, but still if it doesn't then no one should vote for this rabble

Swinson will steam straight into a coalition. She saw the perks Clegg got and fancies them herself.

Personal gain over party policy.

You would only use a nuclear weapon in response to a nuclear attack, being invaded isn't a reason to nuke someone, conventional weapons would be the normal process.
Sorry, that is nonsense, the bombs dropped on Japan were not in response to a nuclear attack by Japan.
There was no way the Japanese would surrender, none at all, the threat was ignored, bombs were dropped,
war over.
The Russians are making regular incursions into British air and sea space, why is that do you think?
If they decided, for example, to occupy a part of British territory, do you think our forces are sufficient to remove them?

No, you would be prepared to use it if someone invaded, that’s the point.

I want Putin to think that if he mounted an invasion and had ships off our coast that Moscow would be demolished.

It’s why you don’t get invaded when you have these weapons.

Well they had us in a worse crisis than our current lot so I may beg to differ on that.
It's obvious really, Jezza's CND is alive and well though.

That’s very much up for debate but if it stops Brexit then she’s won, as far as her party and supporters are concerned.
