Jo Swinson

Scenes on Sky news just now when the interviewer said to her you're just like Farage....just on the other end of the spectrum lol.

You and me both, mate. He’s followed me around sniping since 2010 because I didn’t rate his hero Mancini. A nasty, insecure little piece of work.

I wouldn’t mind if he was actually pulling me up on inconsistencies but the trouble is he can’t understand that someone may appreciate policies from more than one party.

Crikey mate - were you referring to yourself when you posted that last bit?!

I seem to recall similar behaviour all those years ago when you used to post on that football hooligan forum. You’ll remember the one - it’s the same one that your, cough cough, mate Yaxley-Lennon was a member of ;)

I remember him well and suspect that really was him. He was a right prick and that’s where he “started” his lad-cult thing.

I can’t attack you back because I can’t remember anything about you to be honest. Oh well.

That’s because I’m not daft enough to have the same username on here that I had on there ;)

I don’t ever recall Y-L posting on there. First I knew about it was when you mentioned it on here a few months back

Go for the opposite extreme to No Deal is not a good look. I am a remainer and would nothing more to end this shit shower but the damage this would cause socially would be horrific. Bring in a credible deal a Norway + and pit that against a remain in a referendum but just revoking would only stir up the shit and empower these far right nationalists.

Norway v Remain would also cause major social problems. Not as much as revoke or no deal but still not a picnic

Sorry, I’m not following you around just to disagree with you but I must do again.

Revoking isn’t an extreme. It’s maintaining what we currently have and if they win a GE, then they have the mandate to do so.

Hell, there are some leave voters on this forum who are for revoking, as they believe we’ve completely made a mess of leaving.

Rare for you and I to agree, but if I'm reading you right, on this we do.

I can imagine when the revoke Article 50 wheeze was dreamed up, it must have looked like a slam dunk to Jo and Chuka, remain with bells on! Clear water between the Lib Dems and Labour! Happy days knowing you'll never have to deliver it.

But I get the impression that it's probably the one thing both leavers and remainers agree on, it's undemocratic, it's a stunt, and it shows up the Lib Dems as chancers and amateurs.

And there are some Remain voters who are bang against the idea of revoking

See Fumble's post above as to why it's viewed as extreme

Completely agree and trust me on this mate, brexit aside and Corbyn as an individual, you would be surprised what we would agree on politically over a pint or 3 ;-)

I'd vote to be Norwegian. The language would be tough at first but they are the one of the richest European nations (by small population and significant natural resources) hence they can afford a huge welfare state and generous pensions etc.

It’s not extreme in the slightest as it’s cause is just to maintain our current agreement.

I personally would rather a referendum finished it but I’m not greatly opposed to someone winning a GE on revoke and enacting that.

What if there is a referendum & it's 51% vs 49% in favour of remain ?

No outcome is a good one.

It was a stupid fucking idea, having the referendum without having a big public outcry forcing it.

The Lib Dems are offering people a chance to put MPs in Parliament on that ticket, rather than a promise to argue some more & agree om nothing. Which is what will happen anyway.

Staying in the EU isn't extreme in itself

Revoking A50, effectively riding roughshod over a democratic vote in which over 17 million people voted for the opposite outcome, and not even having another referendum to gauge if the public's opinion has shifted, most definitely is.
