Jo Swinson

All the previous Prime Ministers in my lifetime, even going back to Thatcher, have been subject to some fairly vitriolic abuse from backbenchers at times. I don’t recall any of them conducting themselves the way Johnson does. Let’s not normalise this behaviour.
Personally I'll probably be able to get past the use of the words 'humbug' and 'surrender' more easily than the legacy of Thatcher or Blair. It's worth bearing in mind that despite the back benches rolling around and feigning offence he hasn't actually done anything of note since he became leader.

I think if you’re focusing purely on the literal meanings of the words “humbug” and “surrender” then you’re either being disingenuous or naive. Again, it’s normalising/trivialising what he is actually doing. As much as I loathe the man, you almost have to admire the way his tactics seem to be working.

Of course they are working. Parliament have spent three years dragging themselves down to the level where a bloke who for most of my adult life has been a comedic figure on the fringes of journalism has become PM. It's you who is naive if you think BJ has come in and lowered the tone - he's just an opportunist riding the wave of parliamentary excrement.

Why but it’s ok for Phillips to say if Corbyn jeapordises a labour govt she would stab corbyn not in the back but in the front.

Labour MPs threw the political chip of cox into the debate not Boris.

Boris is a twAt but these labour wankers think they can abuse, slag off and choose the moral high ground but they are just as bad, if not worse, than Boris.

They are all twats, think they are on some reality tv programme and grandstanding to their audience

If you don’t think that what he’s doing is extreme and unprecedented then, well, I give up.

I wonder for all the posturing about reopening parliament, how much progress was actually made. 5 hours of opposition pointing fingers, demanding apologies. Boris repeated himself numerous times, I'm surprised he didn't give up and go home

I think the entire house is extreme and unprecedented - was there actually an agenda/ item of business debated? It seemed to me it was just a day of the whole lot of them behaving like toddlers.Even Bercow and Gina Miller have been honest enough to recognise that it was shameful all round. The attempt to make it all about Boris is just an attempt at deflection - and no, I'm not saying he's conducting himself well either.

I have never said what Jess Phillips said was acceptable. It clearly wasn’t. She was rightly castigated for it at the time, four years ago. Johnson (let’s not affectionately call him “Boris”, ffs) as Prime Minister should be setting an example. Intentionally though he is not doing so.

He should but MPs should also ask genuine questions of him and not stand up and just abuse him one by one for 3 hours. Same with May. It’s disgusting. The lot of them are a disgrace.

There were unprecedented levels of anger because it’s unprecedented for a PM to have been unanimously judged to have acted unlawfully by the Supreme Court. If you’re genuinely claiming that it was deflection to “make it all about Boris” then let’s leave it there as I think we probably both have better things to do on a Friday night than carry on this discussion.

see the Labour nutjobs are whinging on Twitter because she rightly won't support their IRA sympathiser as PM.

Some cranks started a hashtag, though as with all hashtags I find it funny it is trending more as people opposed to the theme of said hashtag, then hashtag it in

Not unreasonable that she doesn't support Corbyn. She's right wing and he isn't.

If rumours are to be true and if no deal goes through and so negates her revoke stance in a hung parliament situation she is willing to go into coalition with johnson and the tories again.
