Jo Swinson

Is it the same people criticising Swinson for having a different opinion 11 years ago to now as those justifying Johnson changing his mind every fucking week?

Not in my case. I was actually considering voting for her because I believed she believed what she was saying. Silly me

The manifesto acknowledged there was a “mandate to start negotiations to leave”, but said there should be a second referendum once a draft deal had been negotiated. “Every vote for the Liberal Democrats in this election is a vote to give the final say to the British people,” it said.

She is full of shit.

That’s a fact checking article, you do realise?

Yes.

She will now revoke regardless of what the people think so given what that manifesto says which is the Lib Dem manifesto she is full of shit, as are the 18 that share her undemocratic view.

Because he was in power and hassled by the ERG. She wasn't.

She was following her leaders line on it, quite clearly, which is more understandable, towing the party line, than appeasing back benchers when you’re the Prime Minister.

She was following the party line, as set out by Nick Clegg. I don’t care for Swinson one way or the other, but Bluemanc saying she “campaigned to leave” is categorically wrong.

No its not. You cant read her comments in any other way, unless you want to.

It’s technically not undemocratic as winning a majority in a General Election and implementing your main policy immediately is about as democratic as it gets in the UK, far more than a referendum, which is direct democracy when the cornerstone is a representative parliament.

That said, I won’t vote for them as I disagree with their general liberal social policies, and don’t particularly like the Orange Book mob, of which she’s a member and I think revoking, even in the event of them having the right to, with a majority, would be a disaster for our politics.

She clearly says the EU is undemocratic and its about time the UK has an 'in or out' vote on membership. I always thought she was an avid remainer and now Im told she was only following party lines......

I think you are conflating legitimate criticism of the EU with “campaigning to leave“, presumably because you want to.

She said the EU were “old-fashioned” and “unelected”.... does that sound like a fan to you?
