Joan Garcia

lot of hype on him but never actually saw a game he played.

so I am between get him signed asap as next Ederson while he is cheap

or

forget it, he is not good enough to take over GK role at City.

:)

No one will ever match Ederson for his footwork. No one in the future will either.

He is 10/10 for passing and bravery on the ball. Incredible composure.

So whoever comes in we will notice straight away more misplaced passes which will annoy people.

But, he isn’t great at crosses or shot stopping. So what we lose in goalkeeping distribution we will hopefully make up for with a better shot stopper.

From what I’ve seen of him, Joan Garcia is a very capable keeper so as I say, I’m all for getting him in.
But I would miss Ederson.

He’s finally started doing interviews in English as well now and clearly loves the club with his kids and family at every home game all dressed in the club merch.
There’s a few times this season when I’ve thought, Jesus Ederson, you’ve got to be doing better there but his footwork does make up for a lot of it. We don’t appreciate that side anymore because he’s so good at it and it is a big part of our game.

It’s a difficult call. (But I would like Garcia).

Looks like a top keeper. Brave, agile, good positional awareness, good shot stopper, and saved 3 pens in that clip. He also caught quite a lot of saves. Couldn't gather much about his distribution but looks like he likes to get the ball forward to start an attack.

Good, happy he doesn't like to start the attack by going backwards, never ends well-;)

ngl, a bit weird, one of Spains top talents refused Barca and wants Prem move
Doesn't wanna be a backup. Would rather be the star of his own movie than an extra in someone else's blockbuster. I like that kinda mentality. :)

Garcia is an absolute beast of a keeper. If he joins our team, I’d expect him to get 20 clean sheets in the Premier League alone and targeting Čech's record. To perform the way he has for Espanyol — behind such a weak defence — says it all. He would thrive at City. He’s been my top choice for a while now, and I’ve been raving about him non-stop.

That's 3 more than our keepers have saved in the past decade

What about ball playing/ distibution?

Obviously, Ederson has set the standard, but García is very solid — a true ball-playing keeper. He’s sharp with low passes, has good vision for switches, and delivers quick, intelligent throws. While he’s still developing his range and consistency on long diagonals, the foundation is clearly there. I personally think he is good enough to play for us given how we play and plus his a great shot stopper.
