I feel like he came in and played some minutes for us late in one match.

He played cb in the friendly on Saturday and also came on and went to cb for the burnley Cup game last season.
I remember him doing it in the cup game because walker was playing right back and I expected danillo to go rb and walker move to cb but danillo went straight into cb.

I'd worry about his strength and his positional awareness, Walker was similar and left gaps. I'm not sure that it's such an easy transition as it sounds.

Indeed, and fine for the season. If in january someone comes for Danilo, or he pushes to go, then sounds like the groundwork has been laid for Cancelo, and might even get him cheaper. Presumably he won't bother unpacking his bags.
