I want to keep expectations low since this isn't done, but I am really excited over this transfer. I watched a good bit of Juve last year and in my opinion he has the talent to have a Mendy-like impact (when healthy obviously) on the team, but from the other side. Between him and Walker I think it'll be a horses for courses type deal, like we did with who paired Laporte last season, but to the extent that there is a "first choice" I would not be surprised to see him eclipse Walker by the end of the season.

Agreed. Cancelo is mustard. Be a tremendous addition to the squad.

If we pull this off, absolute daylight robbery. Danilo has been solid but Cancelo is levels above and 3 years his junior. I'm genuinely perplexed at what Juve are thinking with this and whole Dybala-Lukaku swap.

Agree. I think Pep will play Cancelo in Europe more often than Walker.( he often looks nervous in Europe) In Europe technical ability is very important especially for our style and Cancelo is much better in that aspect.

Isn’t Danilo a better defender than Cancelo?

When shall we fire up the flight trackers?

Probably but as odd as this sound, defending isn't that vital as a fullback compared to ball playing ability and ability to create chances. We operate in a system that has allowed players like Delph and Zinchenko to thrive in a fullback role because we dominate so much of the ball. I'd expect Cancelo to be a menace on the right with his passing ability and he's probably an upgrade on Walker's defending abilities.

True. But from my limited understanding, Juventus are a much more defensive side than us.

It could turn out to be an excellent deal for both clubs.
