Jocks objecting to team GB

What have the Sweaties got against a team GB in the Olympics? I know they're against the idea but so far I've not heard any reasons why. Anyone?

Currently, FIFA give all the home nations a vote. There's a danger that if we have a British football team, then the votes of all the home nations will be reduced to one - FIFA already get annoyed because we tend to vote together and wield a bit of power.

FIFA say that there's no question of the home nations' voting rights being reduced, but quite frankly, I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. For that reason, I'm out.

its to do with their funding from fifa/uefa and their independance as individual fa's...if we have one GB team they think they will lose out on funding...i think

The funding is about half a million a season.

It is why places like Jersey have tried to enter the world cup.

If Scotland was applying to join now the would be refused, just like a German state would.

I've lived in Scotland (Edinburgh) and Wales (Cardiff) and in my own experience I always found the Scottish to be no trouble, some banter but that's all it ever really was. Even in Glasgows dodgier areas due to the sectarian stuff you'll always find someone to back you up but in Wales I sometimes feel like a Jewish fella wandering around Mecca wearing an American flag jumpsuit!
