Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Strange really, how the man of the people has now become everything his arch enemy Mrs T stood for. Politicians, who'd have thought .....
 
There is a very interesting article in the Times today (behind paywall so won't link) detailing the links between Unite The Union and construction companies in Liverpool in which Anderson and his son are heavily involved. Multi million pound contracts have been awarded and this is also a major focus of the ongoing police investigation.

I'm very confident that Liverpudlian Len McClusky won't be involved in this however as he is as straight as a die...

Here are some of the main details. Major contracts were awarded to the Flanagan Group by Unite, including one for a hotel and conference centre in Birmingham which was originally costed at 7mill. It was finished recently years late and the latest costs were 50mill but the final figure isn't yet known. The Flanagan Group is owned by an associate of McClusky and the H&S contract for Birmingham was awarded to a company wholly owned by David Anderson, son of Joe. The Times has a photo of Joe, Hatton and Flanagan sitting at a table quaffing champers and they all look very pleased with themselves

Having said all that, I expect everything to be above board and no hint of wrongdoing will be found.

But the left are looking after the rights and wellbeing of the working man. Afterall why else would you pay someone, who doesn't employ you, to work.
