Joe giving his shirt away in the Holte End

Oh please be serious. Joe Hart for England Captain - you must be having a laugh? He doesn't shag hookers whilst his missus is pregnant, he doesn't batter people in Chester nightclubs, as far as I know he doesn't make racist comments or nick other players girlfriends and I don't think he misses drug tests.

He's far too clean to be England Captain!

What sort of transfer fee would he command right now?

I don't think any amount would be enough, personally. He is key to what we are trying to achieve.

25-30 mil in Europe. 35-40 mil in England. Essentially unsellable and unbuyable. Future club Legend and our answer to Buffon and Casillas.
That's a very, very bold statement to make, but in five years' time I reckon you'll be right.

not wanting to p*** on a bar-be-que but i remember having "englands next no 1" against the gills at wembley and we all know how that went
but yes i agree this is a different guy in a different time
really does have the makings of world no 1 keeper in my opinion
but hey no pressure lol
give him time love support and luck and this time we may just have the read thing on our hands

How much did we pay for him? £500,000? He is worth lets say £50,000,000 minimum!!
£600k plus add ons (appearances and england caps etc...) works out he cost us £1 million genuinely a bargain. Joe Corrigan was at the chester branch of the supporters club last year and told us when he was keeper coach at west brom had recommended Joe to Albion...that tells you all you need to know Corrigan knew he was gonna be special. Whatever the reasons for giving the shirt nice touch

there is a difference Weaver was younger and picked up an injury which kept him out for so long when he did get fit he was 3rd choice. Had that injury not happened who knows. Honestly of the two Weaver was probably better at an earlier age but injury robbed him of his development that Hart has had to perfect his craft and what is scary at 24 he's still a baby in keeper terms he can only get better

Well taking into consideration how much david de gea is "worth".
I'd say that Joe is priceless.

You make a very good point. While I've seen enough to think that Hart is the real deal, I'd like to see him perform at his current level for another couple of seasons before bestowing him with the "legend" tag.

There have been numerous cases down the years of goalkeepers showing great potential before falling by the wayside. Weaver was one and at the same time he was making a name for himself, Richard Wright was considered to be even better. A couple of years later Kirkland was being bigged up as well.

I think confidence plays more of a part in how good a goalkeeper can be compared to any other position on the pitch. If their confidence goes, they might never fully get it back. Luckily, Hart seems to be a very assured person and doesn't seem too fazed by any mistakes he might make.

Kirkland, Carson, Robinson, Wright all had a bad time lost there confidence and were never the same again. Kirkland is also made out of brittle glass

I remember Alex Williams being touted as the first black keeper to possibly represent England. Another one who never realised his true potential.
