Joe Hart contract extension?

Excellent Joe Hart, Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov, Samir Nasri and David Silva all signed up, Jimmy Milner tomorrow then.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has signed a new contract which will keep him at Etihad Stadium until 2019.

The 27-year-old, who joined City from Shrewsbury in 2006, said: "I'm really happy, I've been here a long time now and I want to keep that going.

"The club's doing amazing things at the moment, we've created history and we want to keep doing that."

The England international has won two Premier League titles and two domestic cups during eight years with the club.

City's 2012 title win ended a 44-year wait since their last league crown in 1968, while they also won the FA Cup in 2011 and League Cup in 2014.

Hart said: "It was never a doubt for me. It was always whether the club wanted me. I love this place."

The new contract underlines Hart's status as City's preferred goalkeeper, despite the arrival of Willy Caballero from Malaga in the summer.

Hart's place was temporarily under threat from the Argentine at the start of the season, but he returned in top form to feature in all but four games this term.

City team-mates Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany and David Silva all put pen to paper on new five-year deals during the summer.

Hart added: "A lot of the boys have signed long-term deals, so we're building as a squad. We're enjoying building that winning mentality."
