Don't know if this has been on here yet, but I thought it was worthy of a spot and is great news for all those that thought Joe was wanting a way out of City.

Almost like a new signing for us when you hear that players like Joe are already getting focused for the coming season..

Joe Hart has cut short his holiday as he begins his bid to become first choice keeper for Manchester City and England.

Hart has chosen to fly out to join Manchester City’s pre-season tour of the US a week ahead of schedule.

City told Hart and England teammate Gareth Barry they did not have to return until the New York leg of the tour next weekend.

But Hart is desperate to prove himself to Roberto Mancini and with Shay Given set to miss the start of the season through injury, the 23-year-old is heading for Portland, where City play a practice match this weekend.

Putting in the hard graft: Hart has cut his holidays short

City sent Hart on loan to Birmingham last season where he enjoyed an outstanding season.

He was part of the England squad for the World Cup Finals in South Africa but was the only one of Fabio Capello’s three goalkeepers not to play during the tournament.

But the Italian is a huge admirer of Hart and plans to give him the chance to establish himself as England’s undisputed first choice.

Looks promising - although didn't the England team get an extra two weeks off during the World Cup?

He has already had a holiday in Africa for fuck sake Shay is not fit yet so Joe is called upon
I wish I did not have to do 12 hours nights

What's your point?

It's good to see that attitude. I'd have him in over Given anyway.

Just happy to see his eager to fight for his place after some of his comments were seen as being a bit annoyed or disheartened with City.

Hope he gets his chance this season.

Also hope that your night gets better mate....Done nights and day rota's for twenty years and they do leave you a touch tetchy at times.

Great attitute displayed by Hart. But i do hope Shay stays first choice, great shot stopper but hes already hit 34 years old, hes due soon. Joe is still quite young for a goalkeeper so still has plenty of time. But in saying that i don't really care and whoever gets first choice performs for the club.

Ashley Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips blew £8,000 in a few hours boozing at a Los Angeles nightclub.

ENGLAND flops Ashley Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips blew £8,000 in a few hours boozing at a Los Angeles nightclub while gutted fans mourned missing out on World Cup success.

The footie pals - joined by former EastEnders star Michael Greco - were all smiles as they surrounded themselves with champagne and sexy girls during an all-day bender as Spain took on Holland for the trophy.

The England pair kicked off at lunchtime on Sunday and ended their session more than 12 HOURS later looking worse for wear.

A fellow Brit who partied with the pair estimated that Cole, 29, had polished off around 40 cigarettes during his bender.

One of the venues for the Los Angeles bar crawl was hotspot XIV - a top restaurant renowned for its wild Sunday sessions.

There alone they blew £8,000 on booze for their table in four hours. Their session also took in the exclusive SkyBar at their Mondrian hotel and nightclub Guys & Dolls.

The bill for the entire day would have easily topped five figures.

Their Brit party pal said: "You would think they had something to celebrate.

"And Ashley was rarely seen without a cigarette. He must have smoked at least 40.

"At one point he had two in his mouth, it was like he was taking the p***.

"They looked far too pleased with themselves.

"They dropped £8,000 in a few hours in XIV alone. That's about the amount England fans had struggled to save over the last four years to go to watch them in South Africa - and they spent it in a few hours without a second thought."

Cole and Wright-Phillips, 28, are on holiday as they put England's dismal performance in South Africa behind them.

They are hitting the bars of the city to help the Chelsea defender forget his love split from ex Cheryl, 27, who is recovering from malaria.
