Let's face it Joe's not particularly impressed anyone over the last year, in fact he's more underwhelmed people with saves that 9 out of 10 top flight keepers would save.
That's your opinion pal. For me last year joe was a big reason for us actually scrapping into the top 4 and get to the semis in Europe.

Just about sums it up unfortunately.

Too many taking this personally when they shouldnt. We have a new manager and a new system and if Pep doesnt fancy Joe or think he can play his way he will go.

Thats football in much the same way, Joe would ask for a transfer if he felt he fancied a change, more money or he could better himself.

Did you watch us week in week out last season? He was arguably our best player and kept us in loads of games. Very short memories some people.

It may be that Pep is unhappy with the way Joe plays his game.
It may be that Pep is unhappy that Joe isn't able to adapt his game to Pep's requirements.
It may be that Pep wanted to emphasise that he is the boss and left Joe on the bench to demonstrate that.
Could it be something else?
Could it be possible that because of the upcoming game on Tuesday that he wanted to have a fully fit, focussed and motivated keeper for that game? (Joe).
I feel that Pep wanted Joe to watch how Caballero plays with the ball at his feet - a practical demonstration if you like - so that Joe can see exactly what Pep requires.
I hope that our No.1 keeper - England 's No.1- has learnt from this and will play on Tuesday.
Finally, I would like to say that I thought Caballero played very well yesterday, making two really good saves and reacting quickly to potential threats inside and outside of the box. Hopefully Joe will be reinstated on Tuesday, but I wouldn't be too surprised if he wasn't. Willy didn't do much wrong yesterday and it could be that he starts on merit!

Listening to peps after match comments i think he will give hart time to try and adapt. So its up to hart whether he can or not.

Is willy a better keeper than hart.....absolutely not. With his feet willy is barely better either...scuffed his first one horribly vs sunderland...but was better after that. I also thought hart would have made a better jib of trying to save the goal but no guarantees he would have.

What i dont agree on (and im not sure how people would even know this) is that hart is refusing to try to adapt. That wouldnt make any sense at all.

If he cant adapt then we will have to get a keeper whi can play as cabellero just aint good enough full stop. What i would expect to hapoen is for pep to work with all the keepers including hart to improve this area of their games...if he doesnt then we will have to get another keeper....but who?

I know ter stegen has what pep wants with his feet but is he as goid as joe at the rest...im not so sure.

I dont know anything of the other keepers we have been linked with

If, going by recent comments from Pep, that Nasri is training well, and could still have a future at City, surely the same applies to Joe? I don't believe that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" Joe is 29, still plenty of life left in him, he can improve his passing, it is now a prerequisite, a primary skill that is needed, so he can either suck it up and fight for his place, adapt, or ask to leave.
Our keepers will be playing with Stones and Vinny in front of them, so it's going to become the norm to be passing to skilful defenders who can see a pass, so I assume this will be heavily worked on in training, so, he will get better.
Joe is a good keeper, if he can add distribution to his game, he will get his place back, that if if he wants to fight for it, and who's to say this isn't just Pep's way of challenging Joe to sink or swim?

Not as short as yours - the Euros?
So you're saying Pep got it wrong?

I was talking about his form for City. Kane, Alli, Rooney etc. were all as bad, if not worse in the Euros but I don't see them being dropped, or their fans saying they should be. Joe was immense in City's European competition, including a penalty save v PSG, that's the only European competition I care about.

Unless he wasn't playing due to his lack of pre season and opportunity to learn about the way Pep wants us to play, then yes, playing Caballero is the wrong decision for me.

Anyone remember Caballero's performance v Chelsea last season? Absolutely woeful and that's not the only one.
