Respect him a lot, and perhaps among more iconic moments his save against Everton in 13/14 is one that may be underappreciated but never forgotten.

Bizarre move for Joe.

When the others are back fit he could be third choice there.

Utterly bizarre!

Good point.

He'll be back.

Joe is one of those players that have been destroyed by the press and he's in esteemed company with Gazza.

The blame for the England defeat by Iceland was chucked through his window, never mind laid at his door. The game before he'd let in a Bale free kick from fuck knows how far out and the shit hit the fan. Rooneys petulant, frustrated and too fuckin slow trip gave away the needless foul but no mention of this. Or the fact that the England side was fucking abysmal throughout the qualifiers and finals. Or the fact that anyone who'd watched Iceland's progress in the competition should've known they were a very very good team, fit, strong and hard to beat.
So, as recently witnessed during the world cup, the gutter press looked for a scapegoat and Joe got it with both barrels. Once they were into him that was it for Joe's standing in the game. A great young goalkeeper was now a busted flush and they splashed it everywhere. I'd defy anyone not to be psychologically crushed if they received such treatment.
Doubt sets in and a loss of confidence, and by extension, decision making ability follows. Particularly harsh for a keeper given the 'lone' nature of his position on the pitch.

My abiding memory of Hart was the penalty save against Messi. It was right in front of me and a moment i'll never forget.

Good luck Joe lad and thanks for the memories.

What's all that got to do with Zabba?

Its a Joe Hart thread to be fair....
It is, absolutely. I replied to someone who raised the issue of Joe and Toure being honoured, whereas Zabba hadn't. Then another poster replied to me, quoting my aforementioned reply. It wasn't my intention to derail the thread, and I apologise if that comes across as my intention.

As long as lessons are learned then there's no need to apologise my friend.
