i am happy and grateful with the certain saves shay has made but being a goalkeeper myself for a good few years i can see problems

a) control over crosses, doesn't come out and catch/ punch, no control and we concede goals against teams like stoke.

b) kicking, his kicking has been quite poor and i get nervous sometimes.

now i'm not trying to ridicule shay or anything, but Hart has been quality this season in all aspects of keeping so i think we should call him back as soon as possible and let them battle it out.

sorry if already posted.... whats everyones opinion?

shay is still a better keeper but hart is improving fast and, someday, hopefully will be at the same level that given is on now in terms of making saves

i agree though Given's cross colection and distribution isnt exactly brilliant

yeah shay is a really good shot stopper but think about certain goals we have conceded against crosses? perfect example stoke in the replay he made a mess of that, i dont think i would drop shay for hart straight away but a little healthy competition hurt anyone.

shay's had an unsettled/shite defence in front of him, but hopefully vinnie and joleon will be the regular partnership and we will see him shine again, shay can't win in some people's eyes, he comes for the throws from delap, get's beaten, and some slag him off for coming, he stays and get's moaned at for not commanding his box! I have 100% faith in shay, with these lads in front of him, Hart is the future of city, Another season on loan would benefit joe, he would be crushed to sit on the bench after such a great season for brum.

yeah fair point, maybe il make a new opinion after a few more games with vincent and lescott.

The biggest criticism everyone had of Hart was that he didn't come for crosses, he still doesn't command his box any better than Given so let him stay out on loan and bring him back when he is better than Shay, which isn't yet.

agreed

hart is poor on commanding his area.

given is as equally poor at this but for me is the better shot stopper

harts distrbution is better.

stick with given and let hart mature...he will be top class one day but given should reamin number one at present

totally agree, I just hope we can hang on to him and I reckon he'll be the best english keeper in many a year

i can see what city are doing. shay given's only got a few years left in him. develop hart for another year at birmingham and then we can re-introduce hart to the team. it's a plan!

i've covered given's game alot of the time on here,

unfortunetely Hart has exactly the same problem as Given, he can't command his area either, his distribution is slightly better,

both of them are world class with shot stopping, can't take that away from either of them.

According to the OS, there is an article in one of the papers in which Alex McLeish says that he wants Joe for another season. I thought the City management had already decided to let him stay there. If that is not the case, then I am really pleased that he may return to City after all. We may well need him for next years fixtures against Stoke.

Give Joe another full year in the prem next season, invaluable experience will be gained, he is still really young in keepers terms so 1 more year of playing every game will benefit all.

Hart's attitude worries me, I really get the impression he doesn't wanna come back
