It's a tough one as i'm not a fan of chopping and changing goalkeepers. If we make the CL then you can understand it for the two domestic cups, but that isn't enough for Joe and would set his progress back.
I'd be inclined to loan him out again, but for 6 months as opposed to the year. Reassess the situation in January and if Shay is fit, loan him for another 6 months. Then in the 2011/2012 season he returns to us as a 24 year old with 150 Premier League appearances under his belt and Englands #1.
