Agreed, a bit quicker in distribution can lead to a lot of goals with our superior attackers upfront atm. I think the root of his poor distribution comes from the lack of footballing vision though(little imagination, lack of understanding on other player's role), but he will probably improve when he has more experience, hopefully sooner rather than later though.
What strikes me is that he's often very quick to gather and run looking for a throw, but then dithers at the edge of the box, looking all round for the perfect "out".
With kicks being such a blunt tool, and with opponents seemingly closing us down more and forcing him to kick, I would prefer he took a few chances with throws. Maybe Mancini has told him that unless he can guarantee it won't come straight back, with the opposition still in our penalty area, then he should wait and clear when they are back in their own half. It's a much more 'safety first approach' which wouldn't be a surprise.
