Think he did try mate and just couldn't. Think Joe would be the first to admit he just wasn't able to. Don't forget we then brought the human hologram in that was Claudio Bravo. Neither Joe or Pep covered themselves in glory. From reading about it a bit seems Pep had already earmarked Claudio as City's number 1 before he had even arrived

By all accounts it was ter Stegen we wanted but Barca wouldn’t sell and then gave us Bravo instead.

Weird one cos Bravo was ahead of ter Stegen at the time at Barca and then he went on to do really well there for a long time.

I also think Pep knew Joe was a major voice in the camp, Pep could not let anybody stand up to him and show who's boss straight away, Joe Hart could have played in the team and learned quickly about the new system.

But I think Joe battled with Pep from day one and there's only going to be one winner Pep

Pep had to show who's boss straight away and maybe show it to everybody else, I seem to remember a video from the training ground and Pep and Joe disagreed on something and joe walked off and that was that
