Joe harts distribution

Good distribution is a 2 way street. Obviously he does kick a fair share out of play but the ones he doesn't he has Tevez and Aguero to hit who are small and Dzeko never seems to win anything in the air. We either need a proper target man or next season the manager needs to tell him to play it out short to the defenders.

Joe without doubt is the best keeper in England if not the world ,however this season he seems to punch or parry balls away ,just wish he would try and catch a few

Best keeper in the world?

He's not even in the top six.

He could be if he works hard and learns from his mistakes, catching low shots with his legs wide open being one of them. You should always try to get your body (or legs) behind the ball..(If possible) in case it slips through your hands.....

Schoolboy stuff.

Definitely not the world, but England best.

He's in the England Clique, pals with Camel gob and Shrek as well.
He's only playing for England because of our position in the league.
If we were in Readings place, who would be in nets for England, head and shoulders or the Reading kid.

My old man bangs on about hi distribution all the time !! for a guy of his build he should be Schmeichelesk !! all I can think is the goal keeping coach is not fit for purpose because his distribution is pathetic !!

Your Dad's right, but to be "Schmeichel-esque" needs movement ahead of the ball (a la Ryan Giggs) - have a look next time Joe has it and see what is (or isn't) moving ahead of him. Something I think MP will have sorted very quickly!

Sometimes it's not not a keeper's strong point, and as others have said, it's a two way street too.

When Schmeichel was at his peak, he used to throw the ball out to the wings a lot... in fact, it was often the source of quick breaks... but you need a team geared to break quickly for that to work effectively (and we aren't). We were a couple of years ago, but not now.

Somewhat ironically, today we did break quickly a couple of times, but it's a very rare thing.

Not wishing to go off topic but... we lose possession from throw-ins an awful lot too!

Joe Hart is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and 3 time consecutive winner of the golden gloves.

End of thread

Clearly not the end of the thread

IMO he is in the top 5 in the world.

He is slow to release the ball but that is clearly due to instruction from Mancini. We rarely broke quickly, instead he'd dither on the ball and release it to Kompany or Nasty to build from the back.

The more astute managers in the league recognised this (Southampton, Swansea and Wigan) and their forwards were tight on or CBs whenever Joe had the ball, forcing him to play the long ball, which we're shit at and not expecting.

He's made some errors this season but he's also bailed the defence out too. Michu at home to Swansea, Remy away v Reading and the Dortmund home game all spring to mind.

very happy he let 3 in..he needs bringing down a peg or two.....yesterday was not of imporatance..but the rest of the season.. he has not been up to scratch..as for his kicking.. and distribution..tut tut tut
