Good manager who took Wimbledon to 6th place in the top flight. Great servant to Tottenham as a player. His Dons team were niggly but very effective. Seemed a humorous passionate guy. Rest in peace.

Didn't know he's been suffering from Dementia since 2015. From memory, he had health issues when he was Newcastle (?) manager. 77 is not old by today's standards.

Just heard the commentator say this. A proper old school Dave Basset type manager,always managed with a smile. I know he had a bad heart(I think it's what finished his career). Sad news. RIP Joe.

As I remember people wondered how he’d cope with the ‘Crazy gang’ at Wimbledon. He didn’t do badly!
