[Insert high-pitched self gratifying response and criticism of someone else here. Socrates quote optional. Not the footballer.]Hi Joey.
What's he say about qpr game?Just read his autobiography. Went in with an open mind as he did have an impact on our history, whether it was stubbing cigars out in youth players eyes, or assaulting teenage Everton fans on pre season Asian tours. But wow, starts off with his upbringing in what he describes as a difficult environment. You get the jist, parents split. Council estate. Wrong side of the tracks.blah blah. Fuck me we all carry this shit, or know a friend who does. Anyway I quite liked it for the first few chapters because I could relate to his tales and life experiences but my god by halfway through it, I realised that Joey or Joe, by the end of his reincarnation, likes to be addressed, was a compete narcissistic, ego filled, blame shifting **** of the highest order. Would eat himself if he was chocolate.
Likes to play the hard man, grew up in Huyton, estate this estate that. What an absolute hypocrite he really is. It was penned by him, supposedly in 2017, before he got into management. He’d been reborn, was an articulate, troubled soul, misunderstood by the red topped biased media, who really deep down, under the layers would have been a drug dealing scrote had he not been a footballer.
Delusional character in my opinion who like many footballers before him, think he’s the bees knees. What a prick. Anyone else read it?
Kinell. Ned (who also remember came from an inner city background) shits out more intelligence and insight after his breakfast every morning than Barton has ever managed to utter in his entire lifetimeOne of his tales is to put big Ned up for a pre match interview. Apparently he’s boring with no knowledge or insight so won’t give the opposing teams any positives. What a ****. Nedum has more brains in one digit than this scouse, feral rat.
Haha that should be on the blurbI read this book while bed bound with Covid don’t know what was worse. He’s always had a screw loose would rate the book 5/10 next..
Wasn’t his fault. And he was in total control of his emotions. I kid you not. What's he say about qpr game?
Thanks, Joeyy. There is a Podcast called crime in sport hosted by 2 American comics, it’s very funny. They have an episode on joey Barton (episode 99-the punchiness of joey Barton)
Admittedly they don’t know much about football, so you have to excuse some of their ignorance. But well worth a listen
Joey Barton is a bright, articulate man who has experienced more than his fair share of mistakes. The book, I heard l, was penned entirely by himself. It's not all glorious and positive but here's a man conflicted and trying to do better. I personally feel he has had his just desserts in leaving City for a mixed career afterwards. Football is full of characters, bullies and the bullied.
When at City, I enjoyed watching him play and he was gutsy. After leaving City, he slid faster than his hero Steven Gerrard. I'd rather a world with Joey Barton working towards success in management than some other ex-players and pundits. Good luck to him. His youthful actions were sometimes appalling, but he has to move on. So do we. James Tandy? Hope he moved on too.
