That's a very strange leap of logic you've made there. Yes, you can play in a shit team and still be a fantastic player (Kinkladze, Le Tissier etc). Put Thierry Henry in the City team Barton played for and he'd have still been an incredible player. Stick Joey Barton in the Arsenal team that Henry played for and he'd have sunk without trace as he simply doesn't have the requisite talent to make it at the very top.
