Matt le Tissier isn't a bellend though.
He's someone who is capable of formulating a cogent opinion on a given subject through independent research and critical thinking rather than being some compliant, obedient unthinking drone, happily being spoon-fed the latest government narrative and establishment propaganda via state controlled mainstream media or social media echo chambers.
Someone at work yesterday took it to the next level and moaned that there was a female ref at the snooker.
Do people just have it too easy so they need to find anything to moan at? I can't imagine my blood pressure rising because I saw a female reffing the snooker. Unless she had big knockers, am I right fellas?

Hasn't there been female refs in snooker for a while? I've seen it plenty of times.
Besides, it's snooker, 99% of reffing a snooker game is just being a skivvy and putting the colours back on the spot.

While thinking critically is important when it comes to the news and government, it doesn't mean he's come up with the correct opinions as a result of that.
That's a bigger subject though and one I'm not getting into here.
It's not really clever though is it. It's just a really cynical and unimaginative way of getting attention. Literally any thicko could do it but most people have a threshold level of self respect and compassion for others which prevents them from going down that path.

You just keep on consuming everything you're told to think on the BBC and in the Daily Mail/Guardian and your twitter echo chamber of choice.
That's just it though, whatever opinion anyone arrives at through independent research and critical thinking... if it doesn't conform to the narrative and agenda of the government and its client media then it IS the incorrect opinion.
No, it really isn't.
I read a few David Icke books in my time. He actually makes some good points, but a lot of unsubstantiated nonsense also. It's easy to go down that rabbit hole and end up thinking everything is a conspiracy and everything you read in the mainstream is a lie.
It isn't.
Though it is wise to read everything with a critical mind - including 'independent sources', because believe it or not, not all of these are reliable either.
Not everything you read is propaganda, not every disaster is a false flag event, not everything is done to create a new world order.

If you think what Le Tissier says constitutes critical thinking then I don’t know what to tell you.
Critical thinking would be to weigh up most of the crazy things that he seems to think are true and realise that there is mountains of evidence that says they are all complete bollocks. Being open minded isn’t about believing everything that comes your way that you’ve read some esoteric blog post about - it’s about assessing all the evidence available and then avoiding the trap of filling in the blanks with completely spurious speculation. Something that Le Tissier does frequently.

I would go further and say these ‘independent sources’ that are oft cited as a last bastion of journalistic integrity are often way more susceptible to the pitfalls and agendas that people accuse the mainstream media of perpetuating. When you’re a one-man outfit and you depend on your readers for a living, then you will tell them whatever they want to hear regardless of the truth. This is what birthed people like Alex Jones.
There is nothing inherently better about them (and in many cases they are a lot lot worse as they are completely unregulated).
Can you give me one single example of someone holding an opinion on a subject that opposes the official narrative espoused by the government and its compliant media where that alternative opinion isn't branded the crazed ramblings of a tinfoil hat wearing conspiraloon?
Don’t think there is one. Covid being the biggest example where anyone not towing the line was completely vilified. Seem to have gone quiet on a lot of that now don’t they!

There’s a bunch of postmasters that might be able to help you.
Private Eye have made their entire business out of doing exactly what you say and they’re not branded conspiracy nuts because they generally stick to facts and avoid unfounded allegations.
I oppose the government’s official narrative on pretty much everything they say and do these days. Inflation has not reduced as a direct result of their actions. Their Rwanda policy is a completely unworkable and expensive farce. Their systemic cronyism led to people they know pocketing billions of tax payer funds in the PPE scandal. See… it’s not hard, I could keep going. Teeside Freeport, Greensill, the Russian connections to the Tory party. These are all things we have actual evidence for.
The country undergoing some Marxist insurrection, on the other hand…

If making money is the prerogative then it's good business
of course you have to sacrifice your soul, be hated and come across as a right thick horrible **** so not sure it's totally worth it, however much he's making.
Yeah if his highest context is making money then that's one way of doing it. But it's definitely not clever and there's nothing new or laudable about it.
If I wanted to become famous then I could try to become really good at something or I could just go on a killing spree tomorrow. The latter would work but I wouldnt say it's especially clever or savvy.
