He's 19 years old and scoring a goal a game in his first real season at senior level, he could be doing it in the Cypriot league and it'd still be an achievement.

TBF a guy like Danny Welback was in League One. He's not shite. He's just a rag. I only wish his loan was in England. The adjustment period wouldn't be so hard when he comes back.

Since im Swedish I have a special interest in Guidetti and have followed him in Ere division and well, lack of goals in regular play and only penalties. Yes. Thats a problem. But if you see the games as I have. Its amazing how bad the other players are when comparing. Headless chickens on the wings. Fast as hell, zero intelligence and the distribution is so awfull you wonder how these players can be pros, if you compare to PL-players. PL is so much better.
Guidetti is by far the smartest player in Feyenoord and always a step ahead, but he runs on his own. He never gets the ball from his team-mates. If the wings would be average PL class, he would have scored in every game because he always seems to "take" the right run, but the cross never goes where it should... to long or dont get past the defender or I dont know, behind the goal... Guidetti have impressed me, didnt think he would be a starter at first but he is and the Feyenoord fans seems to be happy with him, except that he doesnt score when playing, only on penalties, but when I last read at their forum they have also discoverd how poor their wings are.
But he isnt good enough for PL, but he could be a realistic 4 choice next year if he keep improving, "faster" decsision when having the ball near goal because he isnt fast enough when running and he need to be more clinical when shooting. In U21 and a few times in Feyenoord he have burned a couple of good chances. He doesnt create many chances himself, he need a good pass or cross to get a chance and when he do get one, he need to be more clinical then what he have been in his last U21 games and in his 2-3 first Feyenoord games... Didnt see todays game so cant judge him but 2 goals and a 1 assist. Not bad for a 19 year old in a new leauge. He did create both penalties too. (and at least one of the other 2)

What are we really expecting from a 19 year old? I'm sick of young players being constantly put down because they're not smashing in 30 yard piledrivers. Let them develop their play by giving them a consistent chance and the goals will come.

Arsenal allegedly interested in him. The source is dubious but maybe too random a story to not have some truth to it. Luckily we locked him down to a new contract after we got him back from Twente so no way to easily poach him for the Gooners.

Guidetti was in great form today scoring his first two goals from open play. He also gave a brilliant assist for the 4th Feyenoord goal. He has now scored 6 times in 9 games (4 penalties).
