John Stapleton passed away

So very sad to hear the news that award winning broadcaster and big City fan John Stapleton has sadly passed away aged 79.

John was simply a lovely man and so supportive of the many things I did regarding my MCFC adventures, as a once wannabe journalist myself, it was a real honour to interview John on his City memories when he called in at our home during July 2022, we spent many hours chatting City on the train journeys home from Manchester over the years and was always pleasure to be in his company.

John had that special knack, that special people have, they make you feel special in their company.

RIP John

Condolences to Nick and all the immediate family.

Met him at Arsenal away a few years back. Lovely bloke. RIP.
There's a lovely video of him on the TV version of MU Ruined My Life where he talks about taking his son to Arsenal in the 90s... I was proud as punch.....we were 4-0 down after half an hour" .

It was first game of the season, I was there.

Saw him outside City once and remarked to him that his scarf was even older than mine!

RIP John.

Really sad news, what an awful year it's been so far losing so many Blues.
I grew up with John seemingly always on our local TV in one show or another, in particular the local news. He always came across as a nice genuine guy and so of course he just had to be a Blue. Rest easy John, hopefully we win today for you.

Very sad news he was great blue and like myself attended Hulme Grammar for Boys, Oldham.

RIP John:
A keen Manchester City fan over many, many years. I had the pleasure of talking to him on many occasions over the years travelling to City games by train. A true gent with sharp intellect and a passion both he and I shared.
